  • Cardano is Still on Schedule for the Shelley Rollout With the Testnet, Wallet and Virtual Summit in Place
  • Cardano ADA Has Difficulty Regaining Bullish Momentum After Losing Over $0.0100 in Two Days

Cardano News Today – Everyone in the cryptocurrency community has been talking about the Cardano Shelley mainnet launch since the first testnet was launched last year. Things intensified this year after the Cardano development community announced the date for the release of the mainnet. Things started rolling out in batches and everything is in place for the final and official launch of the Shelley era. They announced that next week, the first Shelley test-wallet for Cardano pioneers will go live.

Cardano News Today – Everything Is Set for Shelley’s Rollout

After the Cardano pioneers start using the test-wallet next week, another version will be released for all Cardano holders. The virtual summit is going to ease the community into the Shelley era. The virtual summit will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2020. The latest update from Cardano was a report on how things have been going for the past few weeks. Four days after the launch of the Friends and Family update, more than 200 staking pools registered on it. IOHK said that it is more than happy with the number of pools. Part of the report was as follow;

“Of course, some of our pioneers are running more than one pool. But to see this number already is testament to the competency and commitment of the Cardano community and the experience we all gained through the build-out of the ITN in the early part of this year.”

Right now, IOHK is in the last and most crucial stage of Shelley’s development. About eight separate teams worked on bringing this project together. While a few small bugs have been found, they have all been solved and no major bugs have been found. The Shelley testnet wallet, which is the next agenda on the roadmap, is going to happen on the 16th of June. After that the hard form combinator test will happen on the 23rd of June. The team had this to say about the Shelley test wallet;

“The wallet back end team has been busy implementing the next set of features that will, in time, allow Shelley functionality from within Daedalus. Coming up next week, a simple test wallet (along with some exercises and scripts) will be released to our pioneer stake pools to test backend integrations. Once we are happy with the core functionality, and that everything has been properly tested, we’ll next turn our attention to the first wallet for ‘regular’ ada holders to try out. We’ll start slowly but we plan to then iterate fast (the Daedalus Flight program is our inspiration here) starting to implement the UI features for Shelley. We plan to start this also next week but remember this is a testnet, so dates are always indicative.”
